White Oak Type 32 Small Brass Hammer
The Type 32 small brass hammers are designed for precision work of all kinds; machining, woodworking, mechanics, restoration work, jewelry making, tool making, leather working... the list goes on. These are also the perfect size to be used as a setting hammer.
The Type 32s were created over the span of a year and a half. I personally use these hammers every day in my workshop which has given me the opportunity to thoroughly test different designs and improve every small detail.
The hammers feature a wooden inlay in the brass head which matches the chosen wood of the handle. All the woods are tested to fit durability standards and only straight grain is used to make the handles.
The handles are octagonal which help you locate the hammers in different directions/positions as you use them. This was inspired by carving gouges that use the same principal to let the user rotate and register the position of the blade in different positions.
Each hammer head is individually turned by hand on the lathe and weights 160 grams (5.64oz). This is ideal for fine work where the user needs to be able to control and feel the pressure exerted on the work. The ball-peen side of the hammer is particularly useful when hitting work at and angle.
Although he hammers are deigned for small work or work that require precision, they are durably built in order to last a long life of professional or hobby use. Every element down to the hand-engraved logos were designed to withstand life in the workshop.
The Type 32 hammers weigh a total of 185g (6.5oz) and they are 20.5cm (8") in length. They fit comfortably on an apron which lets the user carry them on their person for any small adjustments to make in a set up or on a machine.
Note that the cherry type 32 has been discontinued. But special requests can be made.
